COLEMAN B. MOORE

Coleman Burge Moore, 88, of Capstone Drive, Lynchburg, died Wednesday March 14, 2012 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was the husband of Shirley James Moore.

He was born in Appomattox County, March 21, 1923, a son of the late Clarence F. and Grace Coleman Moore. Coleman was a retired truck driver for H.H. Moore Trucking, Army Air Force veteran of World War II, member of Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church and attended Hyland Heights Baptist Church. Coleman's favorite hobbies were wood working and building furniture. He helped build sets for "The Living Cross" at Hyland Heights Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Dennis A. Moore and his wife Cherie of Smithburg, MD; two daughters, Pamela Moore Glanville and her husband, Fred of Smithfield, Paula Moore Bergdall and her husband, Paul of Purcellville; three step-children, Vicky James and Annette Barbour both of Lynchburg, Stephen James and his wife, Julie of Austria; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Smith Moore and two sisters, Ilene M. Wagner and Doris (Dot) M. Chinnis.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 11:00 am, at Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church by the Rev. Larry Mann and the Rev. Mike Summy. Burial will follow in the Moore Family Cemetery, 384 Liberty Chapel Road, Appomattox.

The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 7-8:30 PM today (Friday) and at other times at the residence.
