Clyde H. Reynolds, 86, of Crews Shop Rd., Lynchburg, died Saturday, July 16, 2011, at his residence.
Born in Appomattox County, on August 9, 1924, he was a son of the late Homer Dean Reynolds and Elizabeth (Emma) Robertson Reynolds. Clyde was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, a WWII Navy veteran, and a retired A.T.F. Agent.
He is survived by his wife, Jean B. Reynolds; a daughter, Janice Guthrie and her husband, Tony; a son, Michael Reynolds all of Lynchburg; three grandchildren; Ronnie Guthrie, Darcy Garnett, and Aimee Parsons; one great grandchild, Kylie; three step-children, Joe Younger, Mark Younger, and Debbie Daskaloff; three step-grandchildren, Justin Younger, Vickie Compton, and Wendy Mitchell; four step-great-grandchildren; five brothers and sisters, Doris Mitchell and husband, Hugh of Appomattox, Alfred Reynolds and wife, Betsy of Lynchburg, Merle Nash and husband, Ned of Appomattox, Ralph Reynolds and wife, Ann of Appomattox, and Cecil Reynolds and wife, Margaret of Madison Heights; two sisters-in-law, Hazel and Ruby Reynolds; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Huldah Wilkerson Reynolds and two brothers, Shirley and Harold Reynolds.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2011, in New Hope Baptist Church by the Rev. Wes Williams and the Rev. Ronnie Rogers with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the residence.
