Clyde Milton Nash, 80, of Oakleigh Avenue in Appomattox, died at his residence Saturday, May 21, 2016. He was the husband of Nancy Sims Nash.
Born in Prince Edward County, on January 6, 1936, he was a son of the late Christine Lee and Frank Fisher Nash. He was a member of Evergreen United Methodist Church and a former member of Centenary United Methodist Church. Clyde proudly served his country as a Marine for 6 years. Clyde retired from BWXT as a supervisor after over 30 years of service.
Clyde was loved by his extended family and all who knew him. He was a wonderful Husband, Father and grandpop to his grand and great-grandchildren. Clyde was a gifted carpenter and made many beautiful things. He enjoyed making new out of old and had many projects over the years.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one sister, Shirley Gryder of Lynchburg; three children, Gary Nash and wife, Lisa of Herndon, Brenda N. Chandler and husband, Don of Appomattox, and Bentley Nash of Appomattox; three grandchildren, Aaron Chandler and wife, Crystal, Jonathan Chandler, and Samuel Chandler; four great-grandchildren, Alexis, Izabel, Colbey, and Caroline; four step-children, Gerald Sims of Houston, TX, Jacqueline Dye and husband, Norman of Culpepper, Alecia Davis of Appomattox, and Jessica Collins of Reidsville, NC; ten step grandchildren, Rebecca Sigrist, Ransom Dye, Sarah Phillips, Jacob Bakker, Michael Bakker, Cody Davis, Michael Collins, Bryan Collins, Evin Sims, Christian Sims; four step great-grandchildren, Braydon, Caleb, Eli, Johb; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Burrell Nash and a step-granddaughter, Whitney Dye.
