Clyde Earl Lipscomb, 92, of Cub Creek Road, Appomattox, died, Friday, July 28, 2017 at his residence. He was the loving husband of Loretta Harris Lipscomb.
Born in North Carolina, November 16, 1924, he was a son of the late Frances Crawford and Nevel Lipscomb. He attended Appomattox Assembly of God. Clyde retired from Bethlehem Steel with 30 years of service. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Edward Lipscomb and wife, Netta of Windsor, NC and Clyde Wayne Lipscomb of Appomattox; one daughter, Rhonda Lipscomb of Appomattox; one brother, Joseph Allen Lipscomb and wife, Shirley of Bowling Green; three sisters, Ruby L. Shook, Annie L. Price both of Bowling Green and Helen L. Edwards of Mississippi; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Glenn Harris and David Lipscomb; and one granddaughter, Lori Valencia.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m., Monday, July 31, 2017 at the Lipscomb Family Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Worley officiating with Military rites accorded by American Legion Post #104 and VFW#9855 combined honor guard.
The family will receive friend from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Sunday July 30, 2017 at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at his residence.
