CLARENCE CARLTON RILEY,Sr.

Rustburg- Clarence Carlton Riley, Sr., 84, of 3279 Bethany Rd. died Wednesday night March 14, 2007 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was the husband of Gladys Moore Riley for 43 years.
Clarence was born in Rustburg March 5, 1923 a son of the late William Sidney Riley and Nellie Beeler Riley. He was a retired farmer and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Medford H.; William N.; Raymond E.; and Elbert L. Riley and two sisters, Mazie Irene Riley Doss and Hazel Riley Mann.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and their wives, Clarence Carlton Riley, Jr. and Bridget; Sidney Elbert Riley and Debbie; step-son, Charles (Buddy) Hart all of Rustburg, 7 grandchildren, Phillip, Jamie, Nicole, Amber & Hailey Riley; Tiffany and Michael Hart; and sister-in-law, Mary Riley of Raleigh,NC.
The family wishes to acknowledge the care and concern given to Clarence during his illness by the staff at Avante and Virginia Baptist Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Bethany United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ron Litten and the Rev. Samuel Caldwell. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 7-8:30 P.M. today (Friday) and at other times at the residence.
