Appomattox: Clarence Alfred Lockner, Sr., 81, of Rt. 3 died Thursday, January 26, 2006, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Margaret Gobble Lockner.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, November 16, 1924, he was a son of the late William H. Lockner and Pearl Grace Jackson Lockner. Mr. Lockner was an US Army Veteran of WW II and a retired Produce Manager. He was a former member of the VFW Post #3065 of Baltimore, MD.
In addition to his wife, Margaret, he is survived by two sons, Clarence A. Lockner, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Baltimore, MD and Benjamin M. Lockner and his wife, Peggy of Lynchburg; two daughters, Deborah Norris and her husband, Warren of Baltimore, MD and Margie Foster and her husband, Richard of Prospect; a step-daughter, Wanda Hudson and her husband, Reese of Appomattox; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, January 29, 2006, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Earnie Lucas. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites accorded by American Legion Post #104.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 4:00 – 6:00 pm and other times at the residence.
