Appomattox: Clarence William Jones, 75, of 185 Dark Leaf Rd., died Tuesday, April 24, 2007 in Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was the husband of Dale Carter Jones.
Born in Campbell County, June 25, 1931, he was a son of the late Jesse Herbert and Eva Nash Jones. Clarence was a life member of Central Baptist Church and a tobacco and grain farmer. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Appomattox Farm Bureau and the Virginia Dark Fired Tobacco Advisory Board.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce Gray and Joanne J. Jones; a grandson, Bruce Gray Jones II; a brother, Fred H. Jones and his wife, Betty all of Appomattox; three sisters, Evelyn Beasley and her husband, Harold of Lynchburg, Vivian Ramsey, Marion Pillow and her husband, Bernard all of Phenix; and numerous nieces and nephews, including one loving niece, Gail Clark of Greenville, SC.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 27, 2007 in Central Baptist Church by the Rev. George Kreidel with burial following in Central Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home, Thursday from 7-8:30 p.m. and other times at the residence.
