Lucinda Jane (Cindy) Guill, 56, of Highland Ave., Appomattox, a loving Christian mother, grandmother and friend, died Friday, July 11, 2014, in Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born in Lynchburg, VA on August 26, 1957, she was a daughter of the late Hazel Wooldridge and Robert Allen Guill. She was a member of Rocks Baptist Church. Cindy was formerly employed as a nutritionist for the Appomattox County Extension Service and in the Appomattox and Buckingham School systems. She was active in the arts; she played the piano, sang, enjoyed crocheting and knitting, and was a good cook.
She is survived by two children, Jane Thomas of Appomattox and Will Thomas and wife, Jodi of Spout Spring; two grandsons, William Daniel Thomas and Jakob Owen Thomas; a sister, Suzanne Mitchell and husband, Mike of Appomattox; a host of nieces and nephews; special friends, Donna Nash; Beth, Berkley, and Jake Jamerson; Tom and Susan Walton; Hershey McCoy; and Mary Anne Freshwater; her dogs, Precious and Lilbit; and her caregivers, Brandy Meador Emmy Baldwin.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 14, 2014, in Bible Baptist Church by the Rev. Jonathan Watson and the Rev. Rick Painter. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 4-6:00 p.m., today, Sunday, July 13 and other times at the home of Jane.
