Ruth Christine Wilson Knight, 87, of Country Club Road, Appomattox, died Thursday morning April 25, 2013. She was the wife of Francis McKinney Knight for sixty-five years.

Christine was born December 25, 1925 in Summerfield, NC a daughter of the late Lillian Mae Wilson and Dwight Ellis Wilson. She began her studies at Brevard Junior College, then continued her educational studies at Greensboro Woman's College, now UNC at Greensboro. She completed her studies at High Point College.

Christine was a retired fourth grade teacher in the Appomattox County School System, was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, the U.M.W., Appomattox Retired Teachers Association and the Appomattox Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. Christine and Francis enjoyed western style square dancing and ballroom dancing. She was the very best "Momma" and we loved her to the moon and back.

In addition to her husband, Francis, she is survived by her children, Gregory F. Knight and wife, Michelle of Atlantic Beach, FL and Bonnie K. Phillips and husband, Joel of Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren, Gregory P. Knight of Denver, CO and Morgan D. Castaneda and her husband Oscar of Canton, GA.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph Wilson, Roger Wilson, Clyde Wilson, and Paul Wilson.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm, Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Memorial United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Russell Cheatham. A time of fellowship and visiting with the family will immediately follow the service at the church. Burial will be 1:00 pm, Monday, April 29, 2013 at Hillsdale Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Guilford Co., NC.
