Obituary

Charlie Alonza Lewis, Jr., of Lee Grant Ave, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010.

Born in Appomattox County, November 19, 1963, he was a son of the late Charlie A. Lewis, Sr., and Shirley McCoy Lewis. Charlie was a mason, member of Liberty Baptist Church and was self employed. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by a son; Jessahn A. Lewis of Baltimore, MD., a daughter, Traquel Ayanna Lewis of Lynchburg; his former wife and the mother of his children, Tracey J. Lewis of Appomattox; two grandchildren, Stacia L. Lewis and Orien M. Johnson of Lynchburg; a dear friend, Lawanda Scruggs of Appomattox; three sisters, Shirley I. Broggin and husband, Jessie of Appomattox, Agnes T. Rucker and husband, Eugene of Amherst, Ancer L. Richards and husband, Samuel T. Jr of Cumberland County; a half brother, Reginal Lewis of Baltimore, MD., half sister, Margretta L. Hannah of Baltimore, MD; uncle, Lee Alexander Lewis and wife, Lena of Lynchburg; aunt, Ida Lewis of Appomattox; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00pm, Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Liberty Baptist Church by the Rev. Rusty Small and the Pastor Alfred Jones. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home of Shirley Broggin.
