Charlie Carrington Dalton

Charlie Carrington Dalton, 82, of Lynchburg, VA, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at his home. He was the loving husband of the late Raye Fears Dalton.

Born in Halifax County, VA, on July 7, 1944, he was the son of the late Lucille Clay and Robert Lee Dalton. Charlie was a member of Thomas Terrace Baptist Church. He retired from Babcock and Wilcox after 38 years of service.

He is survived by one son, Jamie Dalton and wife, Kathy; and one brother, J.W. Dalton.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Dalton; and three sisters, Rebecca D. Short, Minnie D. Walker, and Bernice D. Thompson.

A graveside service will be held 2pm, Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Cumbie Memorial Cemetery, Rustburg, VA officiated by Pastor Mark Grooms.
