Charles "Chuck" William Johnson, 84, of Pine Tag Lane, Appomattox, died Monday, July 1, 2019, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Sandra Bowers Johnson.
Born in Hickman, Ky., on March 8, 1935, he was the son of the late Sarah Anna Gaba and Edward Gideon Johnson. Chuck was a US Navy veteran and served his country proudly in Korea. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Frank Pistorio and wife, Chris of Lighthouse Point, Fl. And Anthony Pistorio and wife, Liza of Phoenix, Md.; a grandson, Anthony Pistorio, Jr.; a foster child, David Lee; a sister, Helen Phipps of Evington, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five sisters and six brothers.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 from 5 until 7 p.m.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Friday, July 5, 2019, at Bible Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Jonathan Watson and Rev. Robert E. Lee. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery with military rites accorded by American Legion Post #104 and V. F. W. #9855 combined honor guard.
