Charles Edward "Skeeter" Robertson, 72, of Purdum Mill Road, Appomattox, died Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Sarah Phelps Summers Robertson.
Born in Bent Creek, Va., on October 6, 1944, he was a son of the late Eleanor Louise Doss and Curtis W. Robertson, Sr. He retired from CSX Transportation after over 43 years of service.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Cathy Baldwin and husband, Buddy and Robin Hammer and husband, Jon all of Pamplin; five grandchildren, Nicholas Baldwin, Carson Baldwin, Kendall Hammer, Mallory Baldwin, and Derek Hammer; a step-son, Thomas Zane Summers and wife, Karla of Watkinsville, Ga.; three step-grandchildren, Danielle Summers, Autumn Summers, and Adrian Summers; two sisters, Mary Gunter and Cecil Faye Burks; a brother, Randall S. Robertson all of Gladstone; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Curtis W. Robertson, Jr., David A. "Pete" Robertson, Robert Robertson, and Harold Robertson.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, January 6, 2017, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Jonathon Watson. In honor of Skeeter's wishes you are encouraged to attend the service in casual dress.
