Charles Lee Lipscomb, 68, of Elam Drive, Prospect, died Sunday, January 31, 2010, at his residence.
Born in Alleghany County, on August 8, 1941, he was a son of the late Pleasant Thomas and Viola Mae Fink Lipscomb. Charles was a member of the First Christian Church of Covington, the NRA, North American Fishing Club, and the North American Hunting Club. He was a retired electrician for Georgia Pacific.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald Lee and Debra Lipscomb of Emporia and Ricky Thomas and Renee Lipscomb of Henderson, NC; a brother and devoted sister-in-law, James Alvin and Violet Lipscomb of Prospect; two sisters, Joyce Geneva Lowe of Drakes Branch and Alice Louise Martin of Texas; sisters-in-law, Grace, Lydia, and Liz Lipscomb; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four step-children, seven step-grandchildren, one step-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Preston T., Kenneth E., Thomas E. and Larry W. Lipscomb and a sister, Margaret F. Lipscomb.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm, Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Gary Stoots. Burial will follow in the Lipscomb Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and other times at the home of his brother, Jimmy.
