Charles Everett Kidd, Jr., 60, of Wingina, died Wednesday, June 13, 2007 in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Brenda Pugh Kidd for 39 years.
Born in Buckingham County, he was a son of Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Scruggs Kidd of Wingina and the late Charles E. Kidd, Sr. Charles was owner of Kidd Timber Company and was a veteran of the US Army serving his country during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Antioch-Union Baptist Church, the Bible League, and the Veterans of Foreign War.
" Jr." as he was known to all who met and loved him was truly a generous and giving man, always ready to share his faith and to meet the needs of anyone. His love of family, love for his workers and always putting God first is what made him so special.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Tansey K. and Dr. Joshua Binder of Wingina; a brother, Percy E. Kidd and his wife, Linda of Appomattox; two sisters, Joyce K. Smith and her husband, Charles of Wingina and Jenny K. Ledford and her husband, Larry of Mocksville, NC; a brother-in-law, Clifford Pugh and his wife, Sherry of Lynchburg and numerous very special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Kitty Kidd Fette.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 15, 2007, in Antioch-Union Baptist Church, Antioch Facility, by the Rev. Jennings Duncan III and the Rev. Buddy Bryant. Burial will follow in the Antioch-Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 14, 2007 at Robinson Funeral Home from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
