Charles Henry "Charlie" Gibson, 81, of Spruce Drive, Evergreen, died Monday, May 10, 2021 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Beverly Deatley Gibson.
Born in Evergreen, December 2, 1939, he was a son of the late Carrie Warriner and Jamie Thurman Gibson. He loved playing his guitar, drag racing and restoring his pride and joy 57 Chevy. He was filled with generosity and loved helping people.
He is survived by four grandchildren, Patricia Bell and husband, Jonathan "Boogie" Bell, Melissa Lozano both of Appomattox, Miranda Almond of Lynchburg and Randy Fowlers, Jr. of Baltimore, MD; eight great-grandchildren, Nichole Bell, Christian Brogan, Aiden Bell, Kennedy Almond, Sylas Lozano, Ryker Almond, Annalise Bell and Jet Almond; a special friend, Pat McHenry; and numerous nieces.
He was preceded in death by one son James Edward Gibson; one daughter, Laurie Ann Gibson; and two brothers, James Thurman Gibson and Bill Gibson.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Allan Gregory officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Friday, May 14, 2021 at Robinson Funeral Home.
