Obituary

Charles Witt Baldwin Jr., 76, of Pamplin, our beloved father and husband is now with his Father in Heaven, died Monday, July 1, 2013 at his residence. He and his wife, Elizabeth Elder Baldwin, shared their life together for 50 years.

Born in Appomattox County on May 6, 1937, he was a son of the late Nannie Mae Wright and Charles Witt Baldwin Sr. He was a member of Rocks Baptist Church, had retired from Kyanite Mining after 35 years, was an avid farmer, hunter and fisherman.

In addition to his wife, Elizabeth he is survived by four children, Tammy Carter, and fiancé Mark Franklin of Spout Spring, Thomas Baldwin and his wife Tina, Larry and his wife Lisa, Jerry and his wife Edie, all of Pamplin; eight grandchildren Kevin, Matt and Jeremy Carter, T.W. Baldwin, Robert Mann, Catherine and Alec Baldwin, and Cody Baldwin; two great-grandchildren Lacy Belcher and Noah Carter; one brother David Bradley Baldwin and his wife Shirley of Pamplin; one sister Peggy Atkins of Pamplin; numerous nieces and nephews and friends; along with his beloved canine companions, WooWoo, Alfalfa, Rebel, Taz, and Missy.

He was preceded in death by two sisters Doris Weatherholtz and Edith Doss.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 3, 2013 from 7-8:30 at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at his residence.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Baldwin Family Cemetery, Baldwin Farm Lane, by the Rev. Ron Moore.

The family wishes to acknowledge Dr. Larry Smith, Tammy Wingo, FNP, the staff of Appomattox Medical Center, Dr. Cook and Dr. Valentine for their care and concern to Charles and his family.
