Obituary

Charlene (Hoss) Tomlin Campbell, 75, of Appomattox, went to be with Jesus on Monday, June 5, 2017, while surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife for 31 years to the late Harvey Walker Campbell, Sr. who passed away in 1990.

She was born in Amherst, Va, on October 24, 1941 to the late Charlie Thomas Tomlin and Lethia Martin Tomlin. She was a longtime faithful member of Clearview Baptist Church until her health kept her from attending on a regular basis. She was a fighter who fought an aortic dissection in 2010, lung cancer in 2012, thyroid cancer in 2013 and kept fighting until the end even when the lung cancer returned in 2016. She loved her Lord and family and her greatest wish was for her family to know the Lord as their Savior. She was a loving Mama, Granny & Ninnie to her family and known affectionately as Granny to everyone else. She will be greatly missed and her memory will be forever treasured in our hearts.

She is survived by three daughters Carol Sue Walker, Cindi & Chuck Cuneo, Beck & Kenneth Tolbert, one son Charles Wayne Campbell, twelve grandchildren Brandy & Curtis Bryant, Jennifer & John Cyrus, Reda & Adam Clifton, Michael & Tiffany Campbell, Chuck Cuneo, Jr., Thomas & Kelly Tolbert, Stephanie Campbell, Robert Cuneo, Tippy (Keith) Walker, Brian Walker, Jr., Felicia & Tyler Morris, Kendal Tolbert, nineteen great-grandchildren Brandon Bryant, Caleb & Landon Cyrus, Haleigh & Wyatt Weaver, Brycen, Jaxcen, Madycen & Adycen Campbell, Christopher, Kimber & Kamryn Tolbert, Collin Cash, Karleigh Moon, Garren & Gabreil Carter, Hunter & Kadence Walker, Berkleigh Morris. She is also survived by her siblings Margaret Fry, Sharon & Russell Litchford, Herman Tomlin, her aunt Hazel Campbell, her in laws Minnie Tomlin, Jean Tomlin, Vernell Campbell, Shirley & Preston Miller, Tinch & Lois Campbell, Lucille Campbell as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons Harvey (Butt) Campbell, Jr, and Terry Dean Campbell, siblings Milton, Larry, Fred Tomlin and Peggy Saunders.
The family would like to thank everyone for the calls, texts, visits, prayers and words of encouragement for strength to Granny and the family during her last eight months on this Earth.

Funeral services will be held at Clearview Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2017, by Pastor Zane Kramer, Pastor Jonathon Watson, Bro. JD Critcher, Bro. Terry Cook with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m., until 8 p.m., at Robinson Funeral Home Thursday, June 8, 2017, and at other times at her home, 6634 Promise Land Road, where she lived with Brandy, Curtis & Brandon Bryant.
