CECIL RAY TATE

Cecil Ray Tate, 66, of Westview Circle, Thomas Terrace, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday morning July 21, 2006 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Sandra Sue Evans Tate.
Cecil was born in Rockingham Co., NC on June 6, 1940 a son of the late Nellie Jarrell and Harry D. Tate. He was a member of Thomas Terrace Baptist Church and a licensed electrician by trade. For 27 years he was employed at Limitorque Corporation as Maintenance Supervisor and for 8 years at Dan River, Inc. as a Sew Head Technician. Cecil also proudly served his country in the US Army.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Dawn Tate of Lynchburg; two sons, Randall Ray Tate and his wife, Laura Scott, Anthony Scott Tate and his wife, Wanda Sue all of Concord; two brothers, John Dillard (Monk) Tate and his wife, Betty of Ruffin, NC; George Tate and his wife Cindy of Reidsville, NC; Four sisters, Loraine T. Lawrence and her husband, Dewey of Organ Hill, NC; Elaine T. Smith and her husband, Charles of Raleigh, NC; Bessie T. Sparks of Ruffin, NC; Deborah T. Bolling and her husband, Barry of Eden, NC; Three grandchildren, Cassandra Rae (Cassie) Tate, Amanda Vaughn Tate, and Levi Scott Tate; Step-sisters, Glenda Dunn and her husband, Starling of Eden, NC; Betty Carole Ellington and her husband James of Reidsville, NC; step-brother, Wayne Tate and his wife Betty of Ruffin, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cecil was preceded in death by two brothers, Dewey and Robert Tate.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday July 23, 2006 at 3:30 P.M. from Thomas Terrace Baptist Church by the rev. Mark Grooms. Burial will follow in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by the Honor Guard of American Legion Post #104.
The family will visit with friends at the Church on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. and until time of service.
