Cecil Brown "Skeet" Snyder, 83, of Lynchburg, died on Monday, July 25, 2011. She was the wife of the late Norman Benjamin Snyder. Cecil was born on July 15, 1928 in Lynchburg, a daughter of the late Joseph Swithin Brown and Julia Stinson Brown.

Cecil is survived by one son, DeWayne Snyder and wife, Jackie of Lynchburg, two daughters, Sharon Allen of Lynchburg and Norma Snyder of Myrtle Beach; six grandchildren, Amy and husband, John Plymale, Casey, Jessi, Brittany, Kelsey, and Keri; four great-grandchildren, Allie Marie, Betsy Jane, Maiya Nevaeh and Aubrie Michelle; one brother, George C. Brown and wife, Virginia of Rustburg; three sisters, Vivian A. Brown of Lynchburg, Joyce B. Pillow and husband, Willis of Forest and Judith Krause and husband, Jack of Boynton Beach, FL, and one, brother-in-law, Ronald Tucker of Lynchburg. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Betty B. Tucker.

Cecil was a faithful member of Heritage United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir. She was a long-time volunteer for Centra Health at Lynchburg General Hospital and a retired employee of Brookville Drug Store with over thirty years of service.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Robinson Funeral Home in Appomattox by the Rev. Megan Saucier. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service and other times at 2632 Circle Road, Lynchburg.

Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
