Cecil Conner Harvey, 101, of Westminster Canterbury, Lynchburg, died Friday, November 2, 2018 at Westminster Canterbury. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William Eston Harvey on December 28, 2017and by her son, W. R. "Bill" Houchens on June 15, 2018.

Born in Appomattox Co., March 4, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Lois Witt Coleman and Duval Adams Conner. Cecil was a member of Appomattox Court House Presbyterian Church, Red Hill DAR and the Appomattox Historical Society. She was a retired school teacher and librarian and enjoyed local history projects, landscaping and painting. Cecil wrote and compiled the book " The Genesis of Appomattox 1845-1935 " for the Appomattox County Historical Society.

She is survived by a son, Jerry Wayne Houchens and wife, Joyce of Villages, Florida; step-children, Patricia Harvey Turner of Sterling, Va. and the Charles F. P. Crawley, Jr. and family; three grandchildren, Kie E. Vanderhorst and husband, Jeff, Philip C. Houchens and wife, Shelley, and Joseph W. Houchens; five great-grandchildren, Riley E. Stokes, Taylor A. Stokes, Jeff P. Vanderhorst, Haley E. Houchens, and Hayden J. Houchens; four step grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11a.m., Monday, November 5, 2018 at Robinson Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Beverly and Rev. Janice Fraser officiating. Following the service a luncheon will be held at the Frozen Food Locker. A private burial will be held in Red Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.
