Catherine (Sue) Rebecca Hawkins Fox, 90, of Oakleigh Avenue, Appomattox, died Saturday afternoon, February 28, 2015 at her residence. She was the loving wife of 47 years to the late Clarence Fox.
Born March 29, 1924 in Madison County, Va., she was a daughter of the late Minnie Lee May and Charles Edgar Hawkins. Sue retired from the Loudoun County Public School System in 1985 having served as a kindergarten aide. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church in Appomattox and a former member of Mount Olivet United Methodist Church in Lovettsville.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Tom Wilt of Appomattox; a son, James Fox of Broadway; six grandchildren, Stephanie Bowers (Eric), Brian Deener (Sherrie), Roger Fox, Clarence Lee Fox, Andy Fox (DeAnna) and Matt Wilt (Ashley); six great-grandchildren, Tanner Fox, Wes Bowers, Guthrie Bowers, Andrew Fox, Debra Ann Fox, and Brooke Wilt; and a brother, Alfred Hawkins.
Sue was preceded in death by a grandson, Donavan Fox; five brothers, Phil Hawkins, Charles Hawkins, Ralph Hawkins, Ross Hawkins, and Carroll Hawkins; and five sisters, Lilly Hawkins, Marie Cook, Maddie Lee Carter, Mable Estes, and Zelda Hawkins.
A funeral service will be held 2p.m. Wednesday March 4, 2015 at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Russell Cheatham with a visitation one hour prior to the start of the service.
An interment will take place 1pm, Friday, March 6, 2015 in Mount Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lovettesville, VA.
