Calvin Leroy Pergerson, 65, of Appomattox, died on Sunday, June 26, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Perdieu Pergerson. Calvin was born on April 27, 1946 in Henderson, NC, a son of the late Bennie L. Pergerson and Cassie Pearl Coghill Pergerson.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Christopher Michael Pergerson and his wife, Melanie of South Berwick, Maine and their children, Alexandra and Sydney Pergerson and his daughter, Laura Carter Page and her husband, Tim of Appomattox and their children, Jenna Lund and Jacob Page; his three brothers, Marion Pergerson and Melvin Pergerson of Henderson NC and Freddie Pergerson and his wife, Ella of Wake Forest, NC; and one sister, Peggy West and her husband, Warren of Henderson, NC.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Alta Lively and Perline Howard.
Calvin was a member of Thomas Terrace Baptist Church and a retired Navy veteran having served twenty-three years. He was also a retired Technical Engineer for the U. S. Civil Service.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Thomas Terrace Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Grooms officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
