Brenda Fulcher Martin Thompson, 64, of Red House Rd., Appomattox, died Monday, September 26, 2011 at her residence. She was the wife of Evan B. Thompson.

Born in Lynchburg, VA on July 30, 1947, she was a daughter of the late William Thomas and Annie Riley Fulcher. Brenda was a member of Evergreen Methodist Church, retired from the Appomattox County High School Cafeteria and was employed by Richeson Drive Pediatrics.

In addition to her husband she is survived by three children; Donald Edward (Sonny) Martin of Florida, Contadina Thompson Ashwell and husband, Brandon of Pamplin, and William Evan Thompson and wife, Allison of Concord; five sisters, Shirley Tyree of Rustburg, Emily Sue Fulcher and friend, Lewis Mann of Pamplin, Mildred Crist and husband, Bryon, Barbara Williams and husband, Fred, and Sheila Roach and husband, Todd all of Concord; a brother, George Lee Fulcher and wife, Cindy of Florida; three grandchildren, Tristan Ashwell, Summer Ann Martin, Garrett Woody and a fourth grandchild expected in March; an adopted son, John E. Markland; a god-son, Scottie Allen and a god-daughter, Krystin Baribault; a daughter-in-law, Chastity Bailey Martin; half-brothers and sisters, Virginia Rowland of Halifax, Delores Flowers, and Kenneth Fulcher and wife, Connie all of Lynchburg and her special canine companion, Luci.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 3, 2011 at the First Assembly of God, Fort Ave., Lynchburg by the Rev. Fred Williams.

Friends and family are invited to visit at the residence anytime.
