Bonnie Sue Plunkett Leckrone, 69, of Appomattox, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, November 21, 2018. She was the loving wife of David E. Leckrone for 50 years and 76 days.

Born in Roanoke, Va., April 23, 1949, she was a daughter of Anna Belle Anderson and G. Price Plunkett. In 1971, she graduated from Manchester University, North Manchester, Ind. Bonnie was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church. For over fifty years she served various churches as Director of Music, Children's and Adult Choir director, organist, pianist and most recently at Memorial. She had a lifelong passion for music which manifested itself through her teaching piano to many people.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Allison Anne Leckrone Knaus and husband, Samuel of Altavista, Va.; two sons, David Franklin Price Leckrone and partner Tony Harris of Clayton, N.C., Andrew James Leckrone and wife, Cory of Harrisonburg, Va.; eight grandchildren, Sam, Caleb, Abby, and Noemi Knaus and Annelie, Stephen, Greta, and Cadence Leckrone; sisters-in-law, Martha Plunkett of Manassas, Va., Jacqueline Plunkett of Roanoke, Va., and Jane Leckrone of Indianapolis, Ind.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Allen; two brothers, Galen Plunkett and John Plunkett; and one brother-in-law, Paul Leckrone.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m., Monday, November 26, 2018 at Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Russell Cheatham officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the residence.
