Bobby Allen Ferguson, 74, of Eldon Rd., Appomattox, went to be with his Lord and Saviour, on Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at Lynchburg General Hospital. For 56 years, he and Macca Lee Cyrus Ferguson shared their lives together.
Born in Appomattox County, on February 14, 1935, he was a son of the late Hattie Bryant and Elisha Thomas Ferguson. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church and a retired superintendent with VDOT. He loved woodworking and has made many pieces for family and friends. Bobby was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter, Diane Ferguson Smith of Knightdale, NC; a brother, Oral Ferguson and wife, Christine of Appomattox; two sisters, Frances Walker of Lynchburg and Erma Page and husband, Mick of Appomattox; two sisters-in-law, Dale Cyrus of Spout Spring and Dot Ferguson of Gladstone and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd T. Ferguson and Elisha T. Ferguson and a sister, Doris Christine Ferguson.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Bible Baptist Church by the Rev. Robert E. Lee and Pastor Paul Kavasnicka. Burial will follow in Spout Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home on Friday from 7-8:30 PM and other times at the residence.
