Billy Andrew Almond, Sr., 81, of Rose Arbor Court, Charlottesville, passed away, Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at his residence. He was the loving husband of Beverly Hill Almond.
Born in Appomattox, October 24, 1935, he was a son of the late Maggie Gallier and Andrew Samuel Almond. Billy was a retired State Trooper for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Billy Almond, Jr., and wife Kim of Charlottesville, Wayne Almond of Los Angeles, California and Kevin Almond of Atlanta; one daughter, Dana Thyken and husband, Jim of Auburn, CA; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Liberty Cemetery, 1270 Lee Grant Avenue, Appomattox, with his son Kevin Almond acting as celebrant.
