Beverly Kinckle Martin, 88, of Coleman's Mill Road, Gladstone, went home to be with the Lord Friday, July, 10, 2009, in Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was married 59 years to his beloved wife, the late Ellen M. Martin.
Born in Appomattox County, December 27, 1920, he was a son of the late Edward Kinckle and Mary Adams Martin. Beverly was a member of Mount Comfort United Methodist Church and Woodmen of the World, and was a tobacco and beef cattle farmer.
He is survived by, two nieces and a nephew whom he considered his children, Robin Martin of Gladstone, John Adams Martin, Jr., and his wife Tiffany of Appomattox, and Sara M. Wilkerson, and her husband Michael; a brother and sister-in-law, G.C. and Eloise Martin; a devoted sister-in-law, LaFaye Martin, all of Gladstone; a great-niece and three great-nephews, John "Trey" Adams Martin, III, Colin Randall Martin, Jack Martin Wilkerson, and Carly Rebecca Wilkerson; three sisters-in-law, Louise L. Martin, Hazel Lee Martin, and Annice Williams; two brothers-in-law, David L. Martin and his wife, Lillian, and Thomas Terrell Martin, and numerous nieces and nephews and their children.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers, Marjorie M. Anderson, E. Carter Martin, Robert K. Martin, Sallie M. Martin, and John A. (Jack) Martin.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, July 13, 2009 in Mount Comfort United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Robert Thorne, and the Rev. Randolph Martin. Burial will follow in the Martin Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home today from 4:00 – 6:00 PM and other times at the residence.
