Betty Jane Vest Walton, 88, of Spout Spring, died on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at her residence. She was the loving wife of Ezra Leon Walton for 67 years.

Born in Floyd, VA, on November 12, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Costello Banks Vest and Alma Elizabeth Board Vest. She was a former member of Spout Spring Ruritan and volunteered in all aspects of her daughter's life including school and Girl Scouts. Betty retired from D. S. Nash Construction Company.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughter, Sandra "Sandy" Barton and husband, Edmond "Ed" of Hickory, NC and two grandsons, Luke Barton and wife, Courtney of Spout Spring and Andrew Barton and Brooke Kilpatrick of Austin, TX.

She was preceded in death by a son, Leon Dwight Walton; a brother and sister-in-law, Milton and June Vest; and sister and brother-in-law, Merle and Ralph Hawley.

The family will have a visitation celebrating Jane's life on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 1 to 4 pm at her residence.
