Betty Jean McCormick Doss went to be with the Lord on May 4, 2023, at her home in Winona, Missouri. She was the wife of the late Edward Ryland Doss, Sr.

Born in Buckingham, Virginia on September 17, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Virginia Phelps McCormick and William Douglas McCormick.

Betty is survived by two sons, Edward "Eddie" R. Doss, Jr., and Robert "Robbie" Douglas Doss both of Missouri; four daughters, Debbie Francis of Missouri, Renessa McCormick, Pearl Francis, and Sharon Doss all of Virginia. She also leaves behind her 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren with one on the way; 13 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews that were very special to her heart.

She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Riley Pickard; seven brothers; and two sisters.

A graveside service officiated by her grandson, Orville Gregory IV will be held at 1 p.m., on June 3, 2023, at the McCormick Family Cemetery, Rt. 26, Bent Creek. Following the service there will be a dinner at the Gladstone Fire Department.
