Betty Kress Kershner, 72, of Pamplin, died Friday, March 25, 2011, at Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Robert Whitney Kershner. Betty was born in Lynchburg October 18, 1938 a daughter of the late Dorothy Wilson Kress. She was retired from Thomasville Furniture Company.
Betty is survived by a son, Phillip E. Kershner, and his wife Gina; a daughter, Brenda Murphy, and her husband, Joe, all of Appomattox; two brothers, Floyd and Samuel Wilson, both of Lynchburg; two sisters, Frances Greene, of Lynchburg, Shirley Johnson, of Appomattox; six grandchildren, Joshua, Peter, and Juliana Kershner, and Emily, Hannah, and Gracie Murphy. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Vivian McFadden, Elizabeth Ramsey, and Ella Carter, and two brothers, Daniel Wilson, Jr., and Thomas Eugene Conway.
The family wishes to acknowledge the care and concern given by cousins Betty Campbell and Shirley Rosser.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday March 28, 2011 at Robinson Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Vernon officiating. Burial will follow in Rocks Baptist Church Cemetery.
