Obituary

Betty Ann George Franklin, 80, of Appomattox, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at her residence. She was the wife of Roy Franklin.

Born on October 5, 1943, in Cleveland, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Lily Agnes Kirkland George and Willie Gene George. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church where she was active in her Sunday school class. Roy and Betty owned and operated Radio Shack (Franklin's TV and Satellite) for 28 years. Betty enjoyed sewing and baking. She enjoyed sharing her wonderful yeast rolls, cakes, pies, and preserves.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Diane F. Austin and husband, Allen of Appomattox; two grandchildren, Aaron K. Austin and wife, Brittany, and Carter F. Heise; two great-grandchildren, Wesley and Riley; two siblings, Michael Kent George of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, and Jackie Gleen George of Vancleave, Mississippi; and one nephew, Michael Stephen George and wife, Erin.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Steven Bradley Franklin, and infant son, Brian Scott Franklin.

A graveside service will be held 11 am, Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Liberty Cemetery with Kent Hancock officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home of Allen and Diane Austin.
