Betsy Lee Ratcliffe Coleman, 91, of Village Park Court, Lynchburg, died Thursday, March 9, 2017, at The Summit. She was the wife of the late James Ralph Coleman.
Born in Lynchburg, Va., on January 29, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Hoyt William Ratcliffe and the late Margaret Ratcliffe Kratz. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the UMW. She attended Lynchburg College, graduated from Phillips Business College, and retired from MetLife after 43 years of service.
She is survived by a cousin, Gail Jeffries of Blackstone; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenneth E. "Red" and Dot Coleman of Appomattox; nieces and nephews, Leon Reynolds, Lawrence Reynolds (Margie), Brenda Isaac (Steve) Bruce Coleman (Judy), Alice Rae Foster (Ed), Sandra Wolanski (Gene), Dwight Inge (Linda) David Inge (Sharon) Ken Coleman (Marie); numerous great nieces and nephews; and special friends, Johnny and Jenny Kern.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Concord, Va. by the Rev. Larry Mann. Burial will follow in the Rebecca Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
