Martha Elizabeth "Beth" Keesee Tweedy, 83, of Concord, died Wednesday morning, November 12, 2008 at the home of her daughter, Janet T. Tinnin. She was the wife of E. Filmore Tweedy.
Born in Campbell Co., July 22, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Thomas P. and Miranda Sue Martin Keesee. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law; Janet T. and Thomas David Tinnin, III, Lynchburg, Monica T. and John Kallop, Middletown, NJ., and Cindy T. and Tony Merritt of Aiken, SC.; one son, E. Filmore "Fil" Tweedy, Jr., Concord; one brother, Thomas P Keesee, Jr. and his wife, Wilma, Prince George; two sisters-in-law, Lucille T. Winebarger, Lynchburg and Annie Mae Tweedy, Hampton; 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five sisters, Roslyn K. Burnette, Edith K. Goff, Dora K. Caldwell, Frances K. Godsey and Elva K. King; and one brother, Revely Keesee.
Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 15, 2008, in Concord Cemetery by the Rev. Frank Casper and Rev. R.G. Rowland, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday night at the home of Janet and Tommy Tinnin at 134 Spring Oaks Dr., Lynchburg.
