Bernice Paulette Dodd, 83, of Phenix, died Monday afternoon February 17, 2014 at Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of Thomas Franklin Dodd.
Bernice was born in Lynchburg, April 1, 1930, a daughter of the late Caroline Brandon and Thomas Jackson Paulett. She was a member of Rough Creek Presbyterian Church, South Central Parish Quilters and a homemaker.
In addition to her husband, Franklin, she is survived by her children, Deanna Shepherd and husband, Reuben of Duncan, SC; Bernita Dodd of Memphis, TN; Wesley Franklin Dodd of Phenix and Lila D. Ramsey and husband, Stan, of Charlotte Court House; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Eva and Ida Paulett, and Kathleen Williams and five brothers, Ernest, Jessie, Alec, Deward and Thomas Paulett.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 20, 2014, at Rough Creek Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Wes Williams. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 7-8:30 PM tonight (Wednesday).
