Ruth Bernell Savage Martin, 59, of Meadow Creek Road ,Gladstone, died Friday December 21, 2012 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was the wife of Robert David Martin.

Bernell was born in Lynchburg, July 11, 1953 a daughter of Lucy Jones Savage of Gladstone and the late Edward William Savage. She was a member of Spears Mountain Baptist Church and a Resident Advisor for Old Dominion Job Corp.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a son, Jeffrey Dennis Chenault and Christine of Lynchburg; three daughters, Jaime Allyn Chenault and Daniel Cambria of Fluvanna, Jessica Ann Ahart and Michael of Gladstone, and Joelle Lee Martin of Hopewell, two brothers, Hal Savage and Evelyn of Gladstone and Carlton Cliborne and Emily of Luray; three sisters, Frances Stout and Pete of Kilmarnock, Helen Lee and Charles of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Barbara Stevens of Gladstone and thirteen grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Gianna Cambria, sister, Shirley S. Mace and two brothers, William Leo Savage and Carroll Cliborne.

Funeral services will be held on 2:00 PM Monday December 24, 2012 at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Buddy Bryant. Burial will follow in the Savage Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 2-4 P.M. Sunday December 23 and at other times at the residence.
