Benjamin (Bennie) Charles Massey, 102, of Forest Chapel Rd., Pamplin, died Friday, August 12, 2011, in The Woodlands. He was the husband of the late Naomi (Nona) Jamerson Massey.
Born in Dubois, Pennsylvania, on July 22, 1909, he was a son of the late Charles Edward Massey and Roxanna Marsh Massey. Bennie was a member of Pamplin United Methodist Church for over 90 years, a farmer, and for 49 years he was a substitute Rural Mail Carrier.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Beth M. and Lewis Lee (Skeeter) Fore of Farmville; a great niece, Sheila Massey Smith and her husband, Reggie and two great-great nieces.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Sterling Massey.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., today, Sunday, August 14, 2011, in Pamplin United Methodist Church by the Rev. Herndon Jeffreys and the Rev. Johnny Covington. Burial will follow in the Pamplin Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
