Bennett Gordon "BG" Richardson, 86, of Pamplin passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024, at Sunrise of Richmond Assisted Living Facility. He was the husband of Brenda Parsons Richardson.

Born in Pamplin on September 27, 1938, he was the son of the late James Everett Richardson and Hattie Baldwin Richardson. BG retired from Babcock and Wilcox and served in the Virginia National Guard. He was a lifetime member of Pamplin Volunteer Fire Department.

He was a member of Piney Ridge United Methodist Church. BG was a 63-year Mason. He began his Masonic journey with Southside Lodge #191 in Pamplin, Va.  On December 31, 2015, he affiliated with Monroe Masonic Lodge #301 A.F. & A.M.

BG enjoyed farming with his brothers as well as playing golf and hunting with family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Janis R. Bunce and husband, John and Jill R. Hrynciw and husband, Doug all of Henrico; four grandchildren, Suzanne and Stephanie Bunce, and Allie and Noel Hrynciw; three brothers, Henry Richardson and wife, Shirley, Willie Richardson and wife, Wendy, and David Richardson and wife, Betty; four sisters, Rachel Lee and husband, Wayne, Brenda Brisentine, Shirley Cheatham and husband, Ralph, and Margaret Davis; sister-in-law, Carolyn Richardson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene and Thomas Richardson.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm, Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Piney Ridge United Methodist Church with Pastor Eric Hernandez officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
