Benjamin (Bennie) Alexander Franklin, 88, of Babcock Rd., Rustburg, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 3, 2012, in Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was the husband of the late Hazel Lee Lawrence Franklin.

Born in Sherwell, VA, on June 18, 1924, he was a son of the Bridget Cheatham and Warner Richardson Franklin. He was a member of Rustburg Baptist Church and retired after 37 years of service from Griffin Pipe.

Benjamin is survived by a son, Bennie L. Franklin and his wife, Connie of Rustburg; a daughter, Linda Dale Franklin Warford and her husband, Malcolm of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren, Tanya Mayberry, Benjamin James Franklin, G. W. Hall, Jr., Tina Cullen, Chris Warford, Brandon Allen Franklin, and Susan Warford; seven great grandchildren; a brother, Bill Franklin of New York; and a sister, Berta Terrell of Williamsburg, VA.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 8, 2012, in Rustburg Baptist Church by the Rev. Rick Cole with burial following in the Cumbie Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7-8:30 pm at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
