Obituary

Barry Allen Carwile, 51, of Watlington Rd., Gretna, died April 29, 2008 at his residence.
Born in Lynchburg, August 24, 1956, he was a son of the late Milton Rosser and Lura Booth Carwile. He was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church and a graduate of Rustburg High School. Barry was a retired builder and farmer. He loved music, especially country and gospel. In 1974, he sung live at the Grand Old Opry.
He is survived by three brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel B. and Gail Carwile of Concord, Bruce M. and Gracie Carwile of Forest, and Thomas M. and Judy Carwile of Concord; nieces and nephews, Teresa C. Peirce, Samantha L. and Stephen Farmer, Jacob T. Carwile, and Amanda Carwile; close friend, Freeman Pierce and his beloved dog, Toto.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m., Friday, May 2, 2008 in Thomas Terrace Baptist Church by the Rev. Mark Grooms. Burial will follow in New Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 3:00 p.m. Friday until time of service.
