Bailey Duvall "Tick" McCormick, Sr., 86, of Riverside Drive, Gladstone, died Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Jean Burks McCormick.

Born in Buckingham County, Va., on June 26, 1931, he was a son of the late Virginia Ann Phelps and William Douglas McCormick. He loved spending time in his garden, with his family and fishing.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Bailey D. "B.D." McCormick, Jr. and wife, Sheri of Gladstone; two grandchildren, Kimberly Dawn McCormick and fiancé, Jesse Johnson and Kevin Douglas McCormick; a sister, Betty Doss of Wynona, Missouri; and a great granddog, Harley.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, William, Harry, Ernest "Dooley", Emmett "Peewee", Guy, and Tom and two sisters, Shirley Robertson and Rosa Tyree.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Robinson Funeral Home by Pastor Tommy Bryant and Pastor Jerry Childress. Burial will follow in the Burks Family Cemetery, Mockingbird Lane, Gladstone. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
