Rustburg: On January 19, 2008 Aubrey Jack Rosser, 94, ended his long hard journey of 16 years with Alzheimer's as he went to be with his loving wife of 69 years, Reva Cyrus Rosser, who preceded him in death.
Born March 2, 1913, in Campbell County., he was a son of the late Thomas William and Bertha Thompson Rosser. He was a member of New Chapel Baptist Church, and a retired employee of Wilkins Company in Amherst.
He leaves to cherish his memory, daughter, Shirley Passink and her husband, Paul , son Thornton Rosser and his wife Barbara all of Concord; daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Rosser of Rustburg ; eight grandchildren, Sandra Burks, Marsha Pritchett, Herbert Ferguson, Thornton Rosser, Jr., William (Tony) Rosser, Jeffrey Rosser, Holly Rosser, Trina Reese; 14 great-grandchildren, Cammie and Dallas Burks, Melanie Gowell, Heather and Zackary Ferguson, Dalton Reese, Jeffrey, David, Matthew and Cody Rosser; Whitney and Courtney Rosser, Adam Bauer, and Aaron Bauer; two great-great-grandchildren, John Wyatt Tweedy and Jayden Blake Rosser.
His extended family who made it possible for him to be cared for in his home, Rudy Steele, Wallace Steele, William Steele, and Sallie Booth. Words cannot express the appreciation for the special care, particularly their twice daily visits, given by Rudy and Roger Steele whose compassion and attention for Jack made his life here on earth much easier. Special thanks are in order for his caregivers, Wendy Driskll, Edness Hancock and Doris Robertson whom we could not have done without and thanks to Hospice of the Hills for their concern and support given to Aubrey and his family
He was preceded in death by a son, Aubrey L. Rosser, a granddaughter, Paula Marie Passink.; 3 brothers and five sisters, Arthur W. Rosser, Owen. W. Rosser and Ernest Rosser; Gertrude Krantz, Edna Russell, Vivian Cyrus, Lillian Roach and Allie B. Steele.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at New Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Terry Clark and the Rev. Samuel Cardwell.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 7-8:30 P.M. today (Monday) and at other times at the residence.
