Obituary

Aubrey Jennings McFadden, 85, of Depot Lane, Spout Spring, died early Saturday morning June 12, 2010. He was the loving husband of Pauline Layne McFadden for 59 years.

Aubrey was born in Appomattox Co., January 28, 1925, a son of the late Eddie Thomas and Emma Carter McFadden. He was a long time member of Salem United Methodist Church and attended New Hope Baptist Church in his youth.
He was a 1942 graduate of Appomattox High School, employed by the Norfolk & Western Railroad for 14 years and retired from Babcock & Wilcox NNFD with 30 years service. Aubrey was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II having served in the 9th Military Police Co., member of American Legion Post #104 for 63 years, and a member of Woodmen of the World and the VFW.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Meredith Patricia (Patsy) McFadden; three sisters, Dorothy Martin and her husband, Bennie and Pearl Ayers all of Appomattox and Georgia DeGrange of Falls Church, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Leonard, Charlie, Floyd & Ray and 3 sisters, Lockie Ayers, Ruth Waldecker and Nellie McFadden.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Monday, June 14, 2010, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. James Martin and the Rev. Darryl Martin. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by the American Legion Post 104 and VFW combined Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends, Monday, at the funeral home one hour prior to the service and other times at the residence.
