Arlene Greiner Drinkard, 84, of Lakeside Dr., Lynchburg, died Saturday, January 21, 2017 at her residence. For 62 years, she was the wife of Howlett Fuller Drinkard, Jr.
Born in Nelson County, Va., on November 7, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Sadie Bethel and Harry T. Greiner. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir, UM Women, and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. Arlene graduated from Fleetwood High School in Nelson County and Phillips Business College. She retired from Lynchburg General District Court after 50 years of service.
In addition to her husband, Howlett, she is survived by a son, Anthony Louis Drinkard of Washington, D. C. and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clayton E. Greiner and a sister, Hazel G. Cayton.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2017, Trinity United Methodist Church by the Rev. Larry Mann and Rev. Randolph Martin. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service and other times at the residence.
