Annie Geraldine "Jerry" Ranson Mitchell, 93, of Appomattox, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 26, 2024.

Born October 1, 1930, she was the daughter of Elsie Dickerson Ranson and Walter T. Ranson. She was the wife of the late Raymond W. "Bobby" Mitchell; sister to the late Thomas D. Ranson; and companion to the late Gene Williamson.

Jerry is survived by two daughters, Lisa Godfrey and husband, Allen of Chesterfield and Lori Mitchell of Pamplin; a granddaughter, Amber Godfrey; great-grandson, Drew Godfrey both of Chesterfield; and her best friend and sister-in-life, Ida Belle Campbell.

She was a member of Grace Hills Baptist Church. Jerry retired after 40 years as an Appomattox County School bus driver. She also worked for many years as a Magistrate for the County of Appomattox. Jerry loved dancing and playing pickleball.

A memorial service, officiated by Rev. Michael Duncan will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Grace Hills Baptist Church, Appomattox. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
