Obituary
Anne Gminder Mitchell, 79, of 2005 Cobb St., Farmville, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 18, 2007, due to complications from pneumonia following a lengthy illness.
Born in Washington, DC, June 13, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Edward Evans Gminder and Ellynor Chadwick Gminder.
Anne attended St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Appomattox, was a Past President of the Kings Park Chapter of the Virginia Garden Club in Springfield, and volunteered extensively at Lake Braddock Secondary School in Burke, Virginia.
She is survived by a son, Edward R. Mitchell and wife, Linda Jo of Broken Arrow, OK; two daughters, Lisabeth Anne M. Albitz and husband, Jerry of VA Beach and Carol M. Smith and husband, David of Charleston, WV; a sister, Jeanne G. Snow of Arlington; her former husband, Robert G. (Bob) Mitchell of Pamplin; eight grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A private family funeral service will be held this week.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to St. Anne's Episcopal Church, PO Box 387, Appomattox, VA 24522.
The family will receive friends at the home of Robert G. Mitchell, 16661 Thomas Jefferson Hwy., Pamplin.
