Appomattox – Anne Stanley Childress, 65, of Walton Drive, died Friday, April 22, 2005 in Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was the wife of Robert Lewis Childress.
Born in Buckingham County, August 6, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Henry Madison Stanley, Sr. and Carrie Louise Reynolds Stanley. Anne retired from Imperial Reading with 30 years service and for 14 years was the Secretary–Treasurer for Childress Electrical and Plumbing, Inc. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two brothers, Samuel N. Stanley and his wife, Ruby of Appomattox and Howard S. Stanley of Gladstone; two sisters, Virginia S. Martin and Mary Lou Ranson both of Appomattox; a sister-in-law, Laura T. Stanley of Appomattox and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry M. "Pie" Stanley, Jr. and William R. "Bill" Stanley, a sister-in-law, Barbara G. Stanley and a brother-in-law, J. D. Martin, Jr.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM, Sunday, April 24, 2005 at Robinson Funeral Home by the Reverends James N. Williams, Wes Williams, George Kreidel, and Charlie Benton. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
