Amanda Jean Guill Layne, 44, of Appomattox, died Friday, May 17, 2024.

Born in Lynchburg, December 2, 1979, she was a daughter of Cynthia Elaine Carter Guill and the late Warren Eugene Guill.  Amanda worked at Sylvia's salon for many years, where she enjoyed conversating and helping people to look their best. She liked to camp, trail walk and spending time outdoors fishing and being on the boat.  Amanda loved her children, friends, family and her dogs more than anything.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by three children, Macayla Sommar Moore (Brandon White) Caleb Warner Layne and Wyatt Keith Layne; close friend, Daniel Joseph Rago; two brothers, David Eugene Guill and wife, Suzanne and Patrick Scott Carson; four sisters, Lisa Darlene Doss, Donna Marie Guil Hensley, Delores Guill Mayberry and husband, Reno and Robin Renee Powell and husband, Gene; numerous nieces and nephews; and her canine friend, Diesel.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Robinson Funeral Home with Pastor Orville Gregory, Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at her sister's residence.
