Alvena Fox Frappier, 92, of Liberty Chapel Road, Appomattox, died Christmas Day morning December 25, 2013 at her residence. She was the widow of Calvin Leslie Frappier.
Alvena was born on May 26, 1921 in Robinson, Illinois a daughter of the late Conzia Moran and Walter Jennings Fox. She was a member of Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church and was a retired office manager and accountant. Alvena enjoyed playing bridge on Monday afternoons at Baines Book Store. She was an avid golfer, and helped to promote women's golf.
She is survived by her son, Richard Donald Fortin, Jr. and his wife, Connie (Phelps) of Appomattox; step-children, Calvin & Laura Frappier, Margaret & Mark Henley, Stephen & Linda Frappier; two grandchildren, Ximene Norfield and Richard D. & Jessica Fortin, III; three great-grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Velda Mae Haag of Paxton, IL. She was pre ceded in death by brothers, William Lee Fox, George Eugene Fox and a step-son, David Frappier.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Monday December 30, 2013 at Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Larry Mann. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
