Alvarene Waller, "Alva" McFadden, 69, of Appomattox, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Friendship Health and Rehabilitation in Roanoke. She was the wife of Lloyd T. McFadden.
Born in Halifax Co., September 2, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Richard Melvin and Wilsie Layne Waller. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and a retired employee of Thomasville furniture.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and John Boyce and a son, Jimmy McFadden, all of Appomattox; two grandchildren, John Boyce, Jr. and his wife, Shannon, and Dustin Todd Boyce; and two great-grandchildren, Makayla and Dakota Boyce; two brothers, Richard Waller and Floyd Waller, both of Brookneal; and one sister Ruby and her husband, Harold, of Danville; and two special friends, Edith and Leroy Yates.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 pm Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Jerry Childress with burial to follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 pm and other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and John Boyce.
